We’ve referenced Anton Petrov and Isaac Arthur several times on our show.

Jeff Found Isaac Arthur’s videos years before finding Anton’s videos. While Anton, creates short videos about science news, Isaac Creates much longer videos that deal with the science around concepts from science fiction and other speculation about space. So, we will present the profiles in the order in which we found the two presenters who are each great in their own way.

We will talk about how a guy with an everyday background became the president of the National Space Society, science educator and Youtuber.

Dimensions in Time and Space

Last month (8/29/25) we got a suggestion for a show, so we will delve into ‘Dimensions’ this week!

We consider dimensions in various terms…
A dot
A line
A cube

And we give them names…
First dimension
Second dimension
Third dimension

From a search: “In everyday language, dimensions are the length, width, and depth (or height) of an object.”

It continues: “In mathematics, a dimension is a coordinate or degree of freedom required to define a point on an object.”

That’s not the direction of THIS episode however.

What happens when we go beyond the ‘third dimension’?

There are some fun videos and thought experiments out there. This episode, we’ll take a look at some of these and play around with dimensions!

“The Rubin Observatory houses the Simonyi Survey Telescope, a wide-field reflecting telescope with an 8.4-meter primary mirror. The telescope uses a variant of three-mirror anastigmat, which allows the telescope to deliver sharp images over a 3.5-degree-diameter field of view. Images are recorded by a 3.2-gigapixel charge-coupled device imaging (CCD) camera, the largest camera yet constructed.” ~Wikipedia

It’s interesting that so much space business is going on in Africa yet how little we know about their enterprises. Jokes aside, Africa has 51 countries and a number of them have entered the space race, in any way that they can.
