I’m sure it’s happened before, I’ve never seen it though. Two vehicles are scheduled to launch from the surface of the Earth on Friday, November 9th. One flies out of Naro Space Center, South Korea and the other from Kourou, French Guiana.
Here are the salient facts for them…
LAUNCH ALERT! Nov. 9th, 0630-1000 GMT (1:30-5:00 a.m. EST) Naro Space Center, South Korea The Korea Space Launch Vehicle will launch on its third flight from a launch site on the southern tip of Korea. The first two KSLV flights failed. The KSLV 1 rocket uses a Russian liquid-fueled first stage and a Korean solid-fueled upper stage. The payload for this launch is the Science and Technology Satellite 2C (STSAT 2C) demonstration spacecraft.
LAUNCH ALERT! Nov. 9th, 2105-2251 GMT (4:05-5:51 p.m. EST) ELA-3, Kourou, French Guiana Arianespace will use an Ariane 5 ECA rocket, designated VA210, to launch the Eutelsat 21B and Star One C3 communications satellites. Eutelsat 21B, formerly designated W6A, will provide data, video and government services to Europe, North Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia. Star One C3 will provide C-band and Ku-band communications coverage over South America for Star One S.A. of Brazil.
If you are in either of those regions, check the local times and if they are either before sunrise or after sunset, there’s a chance you will see some Rocket Contrails from them. Good Luck!
