Prepare Yourself for Space Travel Part 2

So, you’re on your way. You have a pretty good idea that this will take your A Game in every respect.

Do you have the ‘Right Stuff’ though? What about the means?  How do you fit into a team as in emotionally?

You can start building these right now.

One thing you can do is learn everything you can.  With the internet, this is getting easier and easier – even college level classes can be had if you just look.

Here’s some fun stuff to look at too and it’s about space:  ISS Research and Technology.  I know there are many classes available on iTunes and through the Khan Academy.

There’s a lot of stuff for kids like this ISS PDF and United Space School.  Just do some searches for what sounds interesting and that could help solve some problems we may have out there.

I know I mentioned it in Part 1, I think there may also be some useful information for coping with the challenges of travel with others, from the people who have been there, and their stories.

It could all be for naught if you ignore preparing yourself financially.  If you currently have income, be sure to read The Richest Man in Babylon by George S. Clason again and again until you have what you need.  Yeah, I mean that.  It just gets more and more useful as you change by first learning then by doing.  I’m on my 8th or 9th read through myself.

Another great way to expand yourself with this in mind is to read Abundance: The Future Is Better Than You Think by Dr. Peter Diamandis and Steven Kotler.  This book helps you know that it is possible, whatever you have in mind.

This next list of hopefuls may be the most inspirational of all.  In many ways, these people are a lot like you.  They aspire to travel off-world and are preparing themselves for it now.  Not all of them are the uber rich either.

One of my favorite resources is Rich Woman by Kim Kiyosaki.  There’s a quote near the back that is very poignant about the importance of money and how it affects everything that is important.  Check it out!

The beauty of having the means for your spacer dreams is that you might smooth over some of the other things, if you can pay your way.  The other things on the list might not work so well on covering this one though.

In a discussion with Jeff Miller earlier, we discovered that there are a few things to add to our list so he will go into some of them in a future post on getting ready to go!

NOTES:
*Being prepared is vital
*Probably not kid friendly – yet
*Could be $millions, there are changes in the industry which may make it more affordable
