A couple of days ago, the #88, activity was ‘Attend an Airshow.’ Did you know that Space air shows are appearing now?
How are they different? How are they the same, as airshows?
Like airshows, you will see flying vehicles though they might look a little strange sometimes.
I only know about one ‘space show’ and one in the works, while there are many air shows all over the world.
The one space show is the creation of Dr. Peter Diamandis. It’s called the X Prize Cup and it’s usually held in New Mexico.
“The third annual X PRIZE Cup was held at Holloman Air Force Base on October 27 and 28, 2007. It was the first space expo ever in which aircraft and rockets flew at the same event, and was the result of a unique partnership between Holloman Air Force Base, the State of New Mexico and the X PRIZE Foundation. In addition to the Northrop Grumman Lunar Lander Challenge, the 85,000 people in attendance were able to see a state of the art air show with F-117s, F-22s, the Wings of Blue Jump team, acres of static aircraft and space displays, and much, much more.” ~X Prize Foundation
The other is Rocket Racing League: “The Rocket Racing League is taking the excitement of NASCAR and Formula-1 Racing into the space age, linking the multibillion-entertainment market to the space and rocket arena.” which is in development.
With any luck, they will be as bountiful as air shows one day and we will see amazing things. I think it would be fabulous to hold them off world too.
*Must find one first
*They are probably family friendly
*There is probably some cost associated with this event
MY APOLOGIES I recently activated a ‘captcha’ plug-in. Each comment will now verify you are a visitor who wants to leave an actual comment. I saw hundreds of messages a day which had nothing to do with Everyday Spacer, or you. The task of sifting and sorting was keeping me from writing and from your real comments. Please reach out as you wish, I want to hear from you and be of service, as I am able. I would not use the ‘captcha’ program if I didn’t have to.
